Attack Helicopters

I read a very interesting non-fiction book called Attack Helicopters. The book was about how helicopters helped in all the different wars. There was a helicopter named the Apache which was a helicopter that had machine guns on both sides to help troops.

Revel

In the continuing theme of this summer's reading program, Beneath the Surface, here's another book about the elusive mermaid species. Revel by Maurissa Guibord is an amazing book about a seventeen year old girl named Delia who goes to Trespass Island off the coast of Maine to find her long-lost grandmother after her mother dies. Delia is soon surrounded by superstitions, mysteries, and the unwanted attention of the Old Ones that watch the island and their ghastly minions. An upbeat book complete with action and romance (of course she has the attentions of the gorgeous Sean Gunn, a local lobsterman, and the equally gorgeous Jax, a rebellious Old One himself) that will enthrall anyone.

The Daughters of the Sea Series

The Daughters of the Sea Series by Kathryn Lasky is a great series to get into if you love the ocean. The stories themselves are about young girls that don't know their past or their parents and know that there's something different about them but they know they aren't the other ones that are different in the whole world. There just HAS to be someone like them. Check out this series at your local library and get into the world of mermaids!
